In a landmark initiative, the Ekiti State Government has disbursed N22 million in subventions to registered youth organizations and student associations across the state. This move is aimed at supporting the development initiatives of these groups, promoting civic engagement, innovation, and sustainable impact within communities.
According to the State Commissioner for Youths Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo, the subvention will also support grassroots development, promote youth empowerment, encourage civic participation, and build sustainable economic social networks.
The beneficiaries of this subvention include:
– Seven Youth Organizations, including faith-based groups
– Seven Students’ Associations
– 35 Community Groups across the 16 Local Government areas of the state
Mr. Adedayo urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously, ensuring they are channeled towards the intended purposes. He emphasized that this support should serve as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and community development among the youth.
The Chairman of the State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Segun Bankole, expressed gratitude to the State Government for the kind gesture and pledged to judiciously utilize the fund towards achieving the desired goals.
