Ekiti Empowers 120 Persons with Disabilities through Vocational Training

The Ekiti State Government has launched a groundbreaking vocational training program for 120 persons with disabilities (PWDs), reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity and economic empowerment. This initiative, facilitated through the Office of Disability Affairs, aims to equip participants with practical skills that foster self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.

Starting March 31, 2025, at the Ekiti State Skill Acquisition Centre, the training will cover a range of fields, including:

– *Hairdressing*
– *Shoemaking*
– *Catering*
– *Business Management*

Participants will benefit from expert-led instruction and hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment. According to Princess Agboola Adetoun, Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s vision is to empower PWDs with long-term economic opportunities, moving beyond short-term aid.
