Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has cleared the air on the designation of the newly built Ekiti Airport, stating that its initial registration as a Cargo Airport does not preclude it from flying passengers. According to Governor Oyebanji, the airport is capable of handling both passenger and cargo operations.
The governor’s clarification has laid to rest concerns that the airport’s cargo designation would limit its functionality. With this dual operational capacity, the Ekiti Airport is poised to boost economic activities and facilitate travel in and out of the state.
Governor Oyebanji’s assurance has been welcomed by stakeholders, who see the airport’s potential to drive growth and development in Ekiti State. As the airport prepares to commence operations, residents and investors alike are eagerly anticipating the opportunities it will bring.
