Bayelsa State Booms as First Lady Inaugurates NDDC Projects, Hails Governor Diri’s Partnership

Bayelsa State is witnessing a surge in development projects, thanks to the partnership between the state government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, inaugurated several projects in Otuasega community, Ogbia Local Government Area, including a refurbished cottage hospital and a newly built community secondary school.

Governor Douye Diri praised the partnership, saying it has yielded positive results and demonstrated the state government’s commitment to collaboration. He also lauded President Bola Tinubu for partnering with the state on the construction of the second phase of the Nembe-Brass road, describing him as the “Grand Master of Collaboration”.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, commended the NDDC for its efforts in developing the region, particularly in the areas of health and education. She emphasized the importance of partnership in driving development, saying, “We cannot play politics with the development of our region if we love our states”.

The inauguration ceremony also featured the launch of the NDDC 2025 free medical outreach, donation of 11 ambulances to select hospitals, and donation of textbooks and desks to Community Secondary School, Otuasega.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the Minister of Regional Development, Dr. Abubakar Momoh, and the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, who both praised the partnership and commitment to development in the region.
