Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor on Sports Development to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has attended the National Council on Sports meeting in Abeokuta, where key policy frameworks for the 22nd National Sports Festival were set. The meeting, held from April 14-17, saw Dr. Osetoba join other officials in unveiling the festival’s mascot, anthem, and logo.
Significant resolutions were made, including the re-establishment of the National Sports Commission, fixing November-December as the standard window for future National Sports Festival editions, introducing a “standby host” system, and capping the festival at 32 sports, with 27 compulsory and 5 optional.
Dr. Osetoba also toured the Ogun State Stadium, where preparations for the 2025 National Sports Festival are underway. Her active participation underscores Ekiti State’s commitment to youth empowerment, talent discovery, and world-class sports infrastructure. This development aligns with the state’s efforts to promote sports development and provide opportunities for young athletes to excel.
