Ekiti State Government Tackles Medical Quackery with Quality of Care Bill

The Ekiti State government has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare delivery in the state with the proposal of the Quality of Care Bill 2025, currently before the State House of Assembly. The bill aims to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework to enhance healthcare standards in both public and private health facilities across the state.

Representing the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, stated that the bill seeks to ensure accountability, uniformity, and quality in healthcare delivery, aligning with global best practices. The proposed law will prevent malpractices, promote quality services, and foster citizens’ confidence in the healthcare system.

The Chairperson of the House of Assembly Committee on Health, Human Services, and HIV/AIDS, Hon.
