The Ekiti State Government has honored two monarchs, the Olosan of Osan Ekiti, Oba Tajudeen Jimoh, and the Elepe of Epe Ekiti, Oba Michael Atolagbe, for resolving a lingering boundary dispute between their communities through internal mechanisms.

The Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, presented the Awards of Exemplary Leadership to the traditional rulers in recognition of their sterling qualities and display of sacrifice in resolving the crisis. Mrs Afuye commended the monarchs, committee members, and town elites for their roles in achieving peace, saying history would be kind to them.

The dispute was resolved through a joint effort, facilitated by Professors Ayan Adeleke and Williams Adebayo, who had written to the government in January 2024, informing them of the communities’ readiness to resolve the issue peacefully.
