Ekiti Traditional Rulers Unite for Development: Oba Ogunsusi Delivers Compelling Address at 2025 Retreat

The 2025 Edition of the Ekiti Traditional Rulers Retreat has brought together over 40 revered royal fathers and 2 regents from Ekiti State to discuss the critical role of cultural leadership in driving development and growth. The retreat, held at the iconic Cavista Hall within the Ikọgòsì Warm Springs Resort and Conference Centre, was graced by His Imperial Majesty, Ọba Ẹniìtàn Ògúnwùsì, the Oọ̀nirìṣà of the Source and undisputed Àrólé Oòduà, who delivered a compelling royal address.

The event was led by the Chairman of Ekiti Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty, Ọba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro – Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, and featured a goodwill message from Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, represented by Chief of Staff, Mr. Niyi Adebayo. The Governor’s message highlighted his economic empowerment vision for Ekiti State, anchored on the theme “Unlocking Ekiti’s Potentials – The Role of Traditional Rulers in Attracting Investments.”

The retreat featured a keynote address by the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, who shed light on the importance of traditional rulers in driving development. In a notable moment, the Chairman of Cavista Holdings, Mr. Niyi John Olajide, emphasized his commitment to Ekiti State development through job creation, stating that his company’s three impactful missions are to create jobs, create jobs, and create even more jobs.
