Ekiti Police Launch Joint Task Force for Bush Combing Operations to Tackle Insecurity

The Ekiti State Police Command has established a Special Joint Task Force in collaboration with other security agencies and non-state actors to carry out bush combing operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements hiding in forests across the state.

The move is a proactive step to safeguard lives and property in the state, following increasing concerns over the presence of kidnappers and other criminals suspected to be camping in the region’s bushes.

The initiative comes on the heels of heightened security concerns in the South-West region, including the recent abduction of Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, who warned that criminal elements had infiltrated the region’s forests. The Ekiti Police Command is working closely with neighboring state commands on coordinated bush combing operations and intelligence sharing.

The command has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical and Intelligence Unit Commanders to maintain regular bush combing, visibility policing, and intelligence gathering.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities, as the police remain committed to maintaining Ekiti’s reputation as one of the most secure states in the country.
