The Federal Ministry of Works has assured that the Akure-Ikere road dualization project will soon become a reality, with President Bola Tinubu set to inaugurate the project in December.
According to the Federal Controller of Works in Ondo State, Engr Olajide Hussein, the 15km Phase 1 of the project, which costs N19 billion, is nearing completion. The project is being executed in phases to ensure uninterrupted access to one lane while work progresses on the second lane.
Hussein praised Minister of Works, Engr Dave Umahi, for his dedication to delivering the project on schedule. The project has faced some challenges, including obstructions from buildings, but affected property owners have cooperated with the government to remove structures.
With the project expected to enhance transportation and economic activities in the region, stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the President’s inauguration.
