The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has taken first place at the 2025 CITN National Tax Debate Competition, held on May 14, 2025. The university’s team, comprising Titiloye Korede Joshua, Aderemi Bukola Serifat, Fasasi Abraham, and Yusuf Lateef Ife, showcased exceptional knowledge, confidence, and teamwork, impressing judges and participants alike. Titiloye Korede Joshua was crowned the Tax Debate Winner, a testament to his outstanding performance.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, commended the students for their remarkable achievement, saying it reflects the quality of students nurtured at FUOYE. Dr. Osmond C. Agu, Staff Adviser to the FUOYE Tax Club, also praised the students for their brilliant display. Babcock University and the University of Ilorin came second and third, respectively.
This victory underscores FUOYE’s commitment to academic excellence and intellectual development, solidifying its growing influence in taxation and economic discourse in Nigeria.
