The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, has honoured Master Olumide Afolabi, a 15-year-old student of Icons Comprehensive College Akure, Ondo State, for scoring an unprecedented 370 marks in the 2025 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination. The feat was celebrated at the plenary, where lawmakers applauded the record-breaking achievement.
The lawmaker representing Ijero Constituency, Hon Ademola Ojo, raised the matter of urgent public importance, describing Afolabi’s performance as “excellent and unprecedented” in the history of Ekiti and Ondo State.
Afolabi’s scores include 80 in English Language, 98 in Mathematics and Physics, and 94 in Chemistry. The Speaker commended Afolabi’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odunayo Afolabi, for raising a brilliant child and counseled Afolabi not to rest on his oars.
