The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, has reiterated the commitment of the Seventh Assembly to staff training and human capacity development to enhance service delivery. This was stated in his opening address at a 2-day capacity training for ICT Staff, Official Reporters, Confidential Secretaries, and Information Officers in the Legislative Service of Ekiti State held in Ado Ekiti. The training, themed “Database Management Systems Using Visual Basics,” aims to equip staff on digital legislative processes and revolutionized ways of moving motions, voting, and debate.

The Speaker, represented by the Leader of the House, Hon Tolulope Ige, expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support to the Legislative arm, which has enabled the House to achieve much within two years of the Seventh Assembly. The Executive Chairman of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon Kayode Fasakin, also praised the State Governor and the Assembly leadership for prioritizing workers’ welfare and urged staff to make maximum use of the training to improve their skills.

The Clerk of the House, Mrs Titilope Agbede, and the Commissioner in charge of Training and Manpower at the Commission, Hon Mrs Fola Richie Adewusi, charged participants to take full advantage of the training to sharpen their skills for effective service delivery. Resource persons Dr Oguntimehin Abiodun and Dr Obamiyi Stephen presented sessions on “Understanding Program Analysis and Data Processing for Effective Legislative Process” and the application of teleconferencing in a digitalized legislative system, respectively. The training program, attended by top management staff of the assembly, continues today.
