The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is making significant progress in its bid to build an ultra-modern Press Centre. Media personalities serving in the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji have pledged to support the Union and mobilize good-spirited individuals to launch the building project in October this year.
The promise was made during a strategic meeting with media appointees led by the Commissioner for Information, Rt Hon. Taiwo Olatubosun. Other media aides, including representatives of the Special Adviser on Media and the Director General of the Bureau of Community Communications, also pledged their support.
The Chairman of the NUJ Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, expressed gratitude for the leaders’ willingness to facilitate the construction of the press centre. The proposed centre aims to provide a conducive environment and necessary facilities for journalists to operate seamlessly, marking a new chapter for journalism in Ekiti State.
