Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has revealed the reason behind his recent visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence. According to Fayose, the purpose of the visit was to encourage the President, whom he has always believed in, even during his tenure as a PDP governor.

Fayose stated that despite being a staunch critic of the previous administration under Muhammadu Buhari, he has consistently supported Tinubu’s leadership. He expressed his optimism about the President’s decisions, which he believes give hope to Nigerians, particularly in stabilizing the economy and currency.

Fayose also addressed recent defections from the PDP to the APC, dismissing speculation about his own potential defection. At 65 years old, Fayose affirmed his commitment to the PDP, stating that he will not be joining any other party.

He acknowledged that the PDP is indeed facing a crisis and may become a “carcass” if swift action isn’t taken. However, Fayose clarified that he is no longer playing a frontline role in the party, having made his contributions while he was governor.
