The Majority Leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Tolulope Ige Michael, has been inaugurated as a member of the High-Level National Strategic Board for the Presidency’s Nutrition 774 Initiative. The inauguration took place at the State House in Abuja, presided over by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima GCON.

The initiative aims to tackle malnutrition and food insecurity across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas through a multi-sectoral collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature.

Hon. Ige expressed his strong belief in the initiative’s structure, describing it as a groundbreaking Executive-Legislative partnership that will guarantee ownership at the subnational level and ensure effective implementation of its programs.

He commended the Vice President for championing nutrition in Nigeria through strategic action and expressed confidence that the initiative will become the most successful intervention on nutrition and food security in the country’s history.

As the National Chairman of the Forum of Chairpersons of Committees on Nutrition and Food Security in the 36 States, Hon. Ige’s appointment is expected to drive meaningful impact in addressing nutrition challenges in Nigeria.
