ABUAD Makes History: Ranked Among World’s Top 100 Universities

Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has once again etched its name in the annals of academic excellence by securing a spot among the world’s top 100 universities, according to the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. Ranked 84th globally, ABUAD is also the top university in Nigeria for the fourth consecutive year and third in Africa.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the university’s visionary leadership, committed staff, and strong value system. ABUAD’s excellence spans various disciplines, including Law, Engineering, Nursing, and Sciences, with all 44 academic programs earning full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant professional bodies.

The university’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its top rankings in several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), where it emerged number one in Africa. ABUAD also achieved top-three rankings in SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

As Nigeria’s only fully residential university, ABUAD boasts a diverse student population drawn from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The university’s state-of-the-art learning environment features Nigeria’s most advanced computational platform for drug design and research.
