The Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC), Ekiti State Chapter, has called on Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration and the Ministry of Education to prioritize merit over political favoritism in the recent TESCOM recruitment examination appointments.
With over 70% of applicants scoring above 60%, the NYC emphasized that only competent and qualified youths who passed the examination should be appointed. The organization warned against appointing individuals who failed the exam due to political connections or affiliations, stressing that such practices would undermine the integrity of the recruitment process and the quality of education in the state.
NYC Chairman, Aare Adedara Temitope Moses, urged the government to resist pressure to appoint incompetent individuals, emphasizing that the future of Ekiti’s children and the educational system depends on fairness and merit-based appointments.
The organization reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the state government to ensure that the voices of Ekiti youths are heard and reflected in policies and actions.
