The Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, has called on residents in rural communities to increase their patronage of government-owned healthcare facilities for their medical needs.
Dr. Filani made this appeal during a one-day engagement meeting with local government chairmen, traditional rulers, and religious leaders in Ado Ekiti. He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to maintain the significant improvements recorded in health service utilization and outcomes in the state.
The commissioner appreciated stakeholders for their support and encouraged them to continue mobilizing and engaging residents on health interventions at the grassroots level. The meeting was commended by the State Coordinator of the World Health Organisation, Akeem Busari, who noted that Ekiti State had scored 100% in the recently conducted National Immunisation Plus Days.
The stakeholders’ engagement aimed to identify and address community-related challenges affecting Primary Health Care utilization and promote Universal Health Coverage through effective grassroots engagement.
