EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT UNVEILS KEY PROJECTS AND APPOINTMENTS

The Ekiti State Executive Council Meeting, held on July 2, 2025, and led by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has made significant decisions aimed at improving the lives of Ekiti State citizens. These decisions include new royal appointments, major investments in roads, schools, flood control, power, and health infrastructure.

According to Governor Oyebanji, “These projects reflect our commitment to safety, infrastructure, education, and inclusive development.” The key resolutions from the meeting include the appointment of new royal figures, flood control projects, infrastructure upgrades, safe school initiatives, school renovations, health and energy projects, and administrative and facility upgrades.



1. ROYAL APPOINTMENTS
– Prince Omolayo Olusola Emmanuel – Owa of Ayebode
– Prince Ajiboye Babatunde James – Elemure of Emure
– Prince Bankole Olasehinde llugbusi – Elesun of Esun
All appointments followed due process under Ekiti Chieftaincy Law.

2. FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS
– Dredging river channels in Ado-Ekiti – N54.5M
– Desilting drains in 5 LGAs – N195.3M
Projects led by EKSEPWAMA to reduce flooding in 6 months.

3. INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE
– Alanaka Road, Efon Alaaye (15 months) – N4.47B
– Ilawe-Igbaraodo-Ibuji Road (12 months) – N1.17B
– Culvert at Tinuola Road, Ado-Ekiti (6 months) – N598.7M

4. SAFE SCHOOL INITIATIVE
– Fence for Govt. College, Oye – N312.4M
– Fence & gate at United Comp. School, Ise – N97.6M
– Fence for Govt. College, Ado – N195.1M
All to be done in 6 weeks by Bureau of Special Projects.

5. SCHOOL RENOVATIONS
– Deji Fasuan Model College – N222.3M
– 10 schools hit by rainstorms – N318.7M
Repairs to prevent collapse and restore safe learning.

6. HEALTH AND ENERGY PROJECTS
– Elevators & additions to 80-bed EKSUTH complex – N3.04B
– Compensation for power transmission ROW – N503.5M
Infrastructure to boost health & power access across Ekiti.

7. ADMINISTRATIVE AND FACILITY UPGRADES
– Facility management of Govt. offices & Women Dev. Centre – N169.2M
– Furniture for Advisors & MDAs – N262.6M
Projects to boost productivity & service delivery.


These projects are expected to boost safety, infrastructure, education, and inclusive development in the state, and demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Ekiti State citizens.
