EKITI CITIZEN URGES GOVERNOR OYEBANJI TO ACTIVATE ODUA TEXTILE INDUSTRY

A concerned citizen of Ekiti State, Siyanbola Olasunkanmi, has written an open letter to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, urging him to take immediate action to activate the recently renovated Odua Textile Industry. The industry, which was commissioned by the Vice President, has remained closed since the ceremony, sparking concerns about the government’s intentions.

Olasunkanmi commended the governor’s administration for investing in the renovation and equipping of the industry with modern tools, believing it was aimed at youth empowerment and skill development. However, the inactivity at the facility has raised eyebrows, with some labeling the effort as wasteful or a mere political showpiece.

The citizen urged the governor to revisit the project and ensure it begins operations, fulfilling its purpose of training and engaging youths meaningfully. Olasunkanmi emphasized the need for the administration to prove critics wrong and show the people of Ekiti that the government’s vision is not just in words but in action.
