The Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS) has welcomed the new executive of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Ado-Ekiti & District Society to its Revenue House in Ado-Ekiti. The visit, which took place on July 9, 2025, aimed to strengthen the partnership between EKIRS and ICAN.

The Chairman of ICAN Ado-Ekiti & District Society, Mrs. Olukemi Fadare, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman of EKIRS, Mr. Olaniran Olatona, for the warm reception extended to the 60th President of ICAN during his visit to Ekiti State. She also invited Mr. Olatona to serve as the Guest Lecturer at the 13th District Chairman Investiture scheduled for August 2025.

In his remarks, Mr. Olatona emphasized the importance of ICAN members remaining professional and partnering with EKIRS to reduce tax evasion. He noted that ICAN members are expected to serve as ambassadors in ensuring their clients and employers comply with tax laws, particularly as EKIRS prepares to prosecute tax offenders.

Mr. Olatona expressed his enthusiasm for fostering a harmonious working relationship with the new ICAN executive, highlighting the potential for growth and progress through strategic partnership.
