The Ekiti State ICT Department has emerged as the top performer in the Ministry, Department, and Agencies (MDAs) Hackathon held as part of the National Cyber Security Conference (NCSC) 2025 activities. The hackathon, which showcased exceptional skills and innovation among top MDAs, saw four teams advance to the in-person challenge after a competitive online qualifying round.
The competing teams included the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Nigerian Customs Service, Ekiti State ICT Department, and Nigerian Defence College. In a thrilling 5-hour cybersecurity challenge, these teams demonstrated expertise in tackling complex hacking tasks.
The Ekiti State ICT Department took the top spot, followed closely by the Nigerian Customs Service in second place and the Nigerian Defence College in third place. This impressive performance highlights Ekiti State’s growing prowess in cybersecurity, a field increasingly crucial for protecting digital infrastructure and promoting a secure online environment.
The NCSC 2025 event underscores the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in enhancing national cyber resilience. As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, such initiatives play a vital role in equipping professionals with the skills needed to combat these challenges effectively.
