The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) Students Union Government has successfully negotiated a reduction in transportation costs for students on and off campus. Led by the Better Days Cabinet, the union executives met with transport union leaders and secured a 50 Naira reduction in fares.
The new prices will take effect at the start of the 2025/2026 academic session. Some of the adjusted prices include:
– School Junction to Phase 1 & 2: N200 (down from N250)
– School Junction to Phase 3: N250 (down from N300)
– On-campus transportation: N100 (Phase 2) and N150 (Phase 3), down from N150 and N200 respectively.
The union’s efforts aim to alleviate the financial burden on students, with over 50,000 students expected to benefit from the reduction. The Students Union Government has expressed its commitment to serving the students’ interests and improving their overall experience.
The new prices are expected to promote a more affordable and convenient transportation system for FUOYE students.
