Ekiti Leaders Unite to Celebrate Senator Adeyeye’s NPA Appointment

A night of unbridled joy and solidarity unfolded at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja as Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other prominent Ekiti leaders converged to honour Senator Dayo Adeyeye’s recent appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

The event was a testament to the strong sense of Ekiti togetherness and collective pride in the accomplishments of one of its own distinguished sons.

The evening was marked by an outpouring of pride, unity, and celebration, highlighting the collective joy of Ekiti State at Senator Adeyeye’s elevation to a critical national position.

Governor Oyebanji described the appointment as an honour not just for Senator Adeyeye but for the entire state, praising him as a thoroughbred professional, thinker, and astute manager of men and materials.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, a fellow Ekiti son, hailed Senator Adeyeye as a resilient and loyal ally of President Bola Tinubu, noting that his appointment was a testament to his competence, dedication, and deep-rooted patriotism. “If anyone had told me it would take this long for Senator Adeyeye to be appointed, I would have said it’s impossible,” Bamidele said, adding that Adeyeye’s journey to the chairmanship of the NPA was one of grit, loyalty, and divine timing.

The event also showcased a rare display of bipartisan unity among Ekiti leaders, with former Governors Ayodele Fayose and Segun Oni, from different party affiliations, showing support for Governor Oyebanji and celebrating Senator Adeyeye’s achievement.

This newfound unity, according to Oyebanji, is the strength behind Ekiti’s progress.

In his remarks, Senator Adeyeye expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for fulfilling his promise and called for an end to politics of bitterness, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the prevailing peace in the state. He also announced plans to relaunch “SWAGA 2.0” in support of Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid in 2026, assuring a landslide victory.

The celebration was attended by several dignitaries, including former Nasarawa State Governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura, Chairman of the South West Development Commission Senator Olu Adetumbi, and NPA Managing Director Abubakar Dantsoho, among others.
