The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an urgent review of the recently released 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates, following the discovery of technical issues. Candidates who have already accessed their results are advised to recheck within the next twenty-four hours as the council works to resolve the matter.
The technical glitches came to light during an internal post-release review after WAEC introduced paper serialization in key subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics as part of innovative measures to combat examination malpractice.
WAEC emphasises that this process is aligned with best international assessment practices but revealed unexpected bugs in the released results. In response, the council has temporarily suspended access to the results on the online portal to ensure fairness and professionalism.
WAEC expressed deep regret to all affected candidates and the general public, appealing for patience and understanding while the issue is rectified with transparency and urgency.
The examination body reaffirmed its commitment to excellence and maintaining trust in the assessment process, assuring stakeholders that it will restore full access shortly.
