The Ekiti State chapter of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji to prioritise the welfare of workers for their overall well-being.
Speaking at the union’s first quadrennial delegates’ conference, the newly elected chairman, Comrade Omotola Famoroti, highlighted the need to build a society where labour is respected, workers’ rights are protected, and their dignity preserved.
The outgoing TUC chairman, Comrade Sola Adigun, urged his successor to pursue constructive dialogue with the state government in the interest of workers.
Meanwhile, the Head of Service, Mrs Folakemi Olomojobi, reassured participants that the state government remains committed to providing a conducive working environment for Ekiti’s workforce.
