The Nigeria Progressive Governors Forum (NPGF) gathered in Abuja to offer heartfelt condolences to Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the newly appointed National Chairman of the APC, over the recent loss of his mother.

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji joined fellow governors from Lagos, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Gombe, and deputy governors from Borno and Ebonyi in the visit. Professor Yilwatda was endorsed as APC National Chairman on 24th July 2025, shortly before the passing of his mother.

The NPGF chairman, Hope Uzodinma, led the prayers and sympathies, wishing the Chairman strength during this difficult time, which Professor Yilwatda gratefully acknowledged.

The forum also extended condolences to Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the passing of his father, late Alhaji Mamman Sani Ododo, with prayers for eternal peace and comfort.

Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello expressed appreciation for the support shown by the NPGF, highlighting the solidarity among Nigeria’s leaders during times of loss.
