Ekiti State has maintained its leading position as the most fiscally transparent state in Nigeria for the second quarter of 2025, scoring a perfect 100% in the latest States Fiscal Transparency Ranking.
The state excelled across all categories, including budget approval, citizens’ budget, financial reporting, and e-procurement portals, showcasing its strong commitment to openness and accountability in public finance.
Gombe made a notable rise to second place, while Kebbi held steady in third, with Ebonyi and Osun tied at fourth and Kaduna dropping to sixth.
Ekiti’s continued leadership in transparency sets the pace for other states, reinforcing the importance for citizens to demand financial accountability and ensure that governance remains transparent and effective.
