The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has lambasted former Governor Ayo Fayose, describing him as “a political retiree desperately shouting from the sidelines to remind people that he once existed.”

This was revealed in a press statement signed by Hon. Yemi Ajanaku, Chairman of Local Government Chairmen, PDP Ekiti State Chapter, and made available to newsmen on Thursday.

In the statement, the party said Fayose’s recent attacks on the PDP were “the bitter cries of a man who destroyed his own political career through greed, betrayal, and unbridled arrogance.”

Let it be clear, Ayo Fayose’s political career is dead and buried. Ekiti people have rejected him. The PDP has moved on. What we are witnessing now is the noise of a lonely man whose influence disappeared the day he lost the trust of the very people who once believed in him,” the
statement read.

The PDP accused Fayose of attempting to destabilize the party after years of manipulating its internal structures for personal benefit.

“This is the same man who imposed candidates, sold out party interests, and divided our ranks. He thrived on intimidation and deceit, and now that Ekiti PDP has broken free from his control, he can’t handle it. The era of ‘Fayose decides everything’ is gone forever,” the statement continued.

The party also challenged Fayose to test his popularity anywhere in Ekiti State without hiding behind the PDP’s name or structure.
“If Fayose still thinks he matters, let him call a rally in Ado-Ekiti and see if even the people he used to pay will show up. Ekiti people are done with his drama. They want progress, not noise. They want leadership, not manipulation,” Ajanaku said.

Reaffirming its commitment to rebuilding the grassroots and uniting members ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial elections, the PDP maintained that it would not be distracted by “expired politicians seeking relevance through insults and media theatrics.”

“The PDP in Ekiti is back on its feet—stronger, united, and ready to win again. Fayose can keep talking to himself on social media and media houses, but the train of progress has left the station, and he’s not even at the park,” the statement concluded
