Peaceful Delegate Congress In Ekiti, Reflection Of APC’s Unity, Popularity – Oyebanji

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegate Congress at his Ikogosi Ward 6 in Ekiti West Local Government Area on Saturday.

The governor described the peaceful conduct of the Delegate Congress across the 177 wards in Ekiti as a reflection of the party’s unity and cohesion.

Similarly, the coalition of civil society organisations (CSOs) has commended party members for their peaceful conduct during the party’s delegate congress ahead of the governorship primary.

Speaking with journalists, the governor lauded the party faithful for demonstrating maturity, discipline, and loyalty to the APC’s ideals.

Oyebanji described the exercise as a clear reflection of the unity and cohesion within the APC in Ekiti State, adding that his administration’s performance in human capital and infrastructural development had strengthened the party’s appeal.

He noted that his government’s record of transparency, good governance, and service delivery had continued to attract members from other political parties into the APC.

“You can see that our members are happy and united in one accord to exercise their franchise. In all the wards, delegates are being elected by consensus, which speaks to the unity between our leaders and members. With God on our side, by June 20 next year, APC will win convincingly in all the 177 wards,” the governor declared.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC Delegates Congress Committee, Mr. Jaret Tenebe, who led his team across all local governments in the state, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

He commended Governor Oyebanji for fostering unity and inclusiveness within the party, assuring that the committee adhered strictly to due process to ensure a credible and crisis-free congress.

A team of INEC-registered CSOs observing the exercise also hailed the peaceful and transparent conduct of the delegate election across the state.

Led by Mr Romanus Azubuike, the observers reported that the election held simultaneously in all the 177 wards across the 16 local government areas, describing it as a model of orderliness and professionalism.

The coalition commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the new INEC Chairman Prof. Joas Ojo Amupitan (SAN), and Governor Oyebanji for creating a conducive environment that ensured the success of the exercise.
