The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has officially postponed its Ekiti State Congress and Governorship primary, originally set for Saturday, 8th November 2025, citing unavoidable logistical challenges that have derailed the planned proceedings.
The decision, communicated through a formal letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammed, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu, emphasises the party’s commitment to a seamless process while adhering to electoral timelines. Dated 6th November 2025 and dispatched from the party’s national secretariat at Wadata Plaza in Abuja, the missive references an earlier notification on the matter and assures that a revised date will be announced promptly once arrangements are finalised.
This postponement comes at a critical juncture, with INEC guidelines mandating that political parties must conclude primaries for candidate selection no later than 11th November 2025, leaving a narrow window for rescheduling.
