Ara Ekiti Community Celebrates Milestone in Palace Construction, Appeals to Ekiti State Government for Road Rehabilitation

The people of Ara Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area have expressed joy over the remarkable progress in the ongoing construction of the ultra-modern Palace of the Alara of Ara Ekiti, describing it as a product of collective sacrifice, unity, and commitment of indigenes both home and abroad.

In a joint statement, the National President of Ara Progressive Union (A.P.U), Mr. Sebioba Suberu, and the Lagos Branch Chairman, Mr. Ajidahun Lucas Sunday, appreciated all sons and daughters of the town for their relentless support towards the noble project.

Recently, the APU President led the Alara of Ara Ekiti and Chiefs on an inspection tour of the near-completed palace. The event was conducted on a low scale in honour of the sudden demise of one of the illustrious sons of the town, Late Barr. Agbola. The community acknowledged that every contribution, regardless of size, has contributed immensely to the success achieved so far.

However, while rejoicing over this historic progress, the community is making a passionate plea to the Ekiti State Government to urgently intervene and rehabilitate the Awo–Ara–Ijero road, which they describe as deplorable and a major source of hardship to residents, visitors, farmers, transporters and business activities.

“We implore the government to rescue us from this quagmire and bring relief to our people,” the statement emphasized.

The community also appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State for extending developmental attention to the ancient city renowned historically as “The City of Pots”, and further commended every committee member, stakeholder and indigene contributing to the palace project.

“Together, we shall complete this noble project to the glory of God and for the pride of present and unborn generations.”

The people of Ara Kingdom extend heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Barrister Agbola and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.

In addition, the Ara Ekiti community expressed strong support for the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) in the next gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
