It was like drama yesterday morning as Residents of Toluwani along the shepherd road in Ado Ekiti woke up and discovered that the newly procured transformer through community efforts has been totally vandalized while valuable cables were carted away.

This development prompted residents of the community to troop out in their large number and blocked the major road that led to the area which prevented free flow of vehicular movement.

Speaking with newsmen during the peaceful protest, Chairman landlord Association of Toluwani community along shepherd road Ado Ekiti, Mr Adeyinka Egbeyemi explained that the community has been in total darkness for the last fifteen years, saying the transformer that was vandalized was bought through donations from residents of the community.

Also, another resident of the community, Mr Fakiyesi Gbenga said over twenty million naira was contributed to procuring the transformer that was vandalized and called on the state government to come to their aid by providing another one for them.

Meanwhile, Chairman Ado Central LCDA, Mr Toyin Ojo who came to sympathize with the people promised that the State Government would provide another transformer for them and urged them to remove all planks used to block the road in the interest of peace.
