Ekiti State College of Health, Ijero Receives NBTE Accreditation Team for Clinical Technology, Allied Health Sciences Programmes

‎The Management of Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, has expressed gratitude to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for guiding technology-based tertiary institutions in the country towards upholding standards.

The College Provost, Dr Olufemi Olubamise, gave the commendation while receiving the Director, NBTE Southwest Zonal Office, Mr Ayo Aroge, and a Resource Verification Team led by Mrs Kadijat Ismael, who had visited the college for accreditation purposes.

‎Dr Olubamise described accreditation as the backbone of any institution and informed the team that the college had, for some months, been undergoing restructuring as part of moves to prepare for the institution’s upgrade to a polytechnic.

‎In his brief remarks, the Director, NBTE Southwest Zonal Office, Mr Ayo Aroge, congratulated the current college management on the successes they had so far recorded since assuming office in October 2025, just as he hailed the institution for being ever-innovative.
‎
‎On her part, the accreditation and resource verification team leader, Mrs Khadijat Ismael, appreciated the hospitality of the college management and hailed the institution for their high level of preparedness for the exercise, especially in the aspects of equipment, manpower, and physical structure, among others.

‎The team had visited to assess not fewer than 12 programmes, some of which are already due for reaccreditation and others for accreditation, namely: Medical Laboratory Technician, Dental Technology, Paramedics, Community Health, Public Health Technology, Orthopedic Plaster Cast Technology, HND Environmental Health Technology, Dental Surgery Technology, Community Health Technology, ND Medical Imaging, Health Education, and HND Computer Science.

‎Notably, they were co-received by other college principal officers, including the Deputy Provost, Mrs Folake Oladapo; the Registrar, Mr Sunday Ayodeji; the Bursar, Mr Olaniyi Dada; the Librarian, Mr Femi Folorunso; Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and the College Accreditation Committee Chairman, Mr Kayode Abolarin, who conducted the team around for the evaluation process across all programmes.

‎During the visit, the officials conducted a comprehensive review of the college’s academic resources and learning facilities.

Their assessment covered e-library resources, staffing adequacy, student quality, laboratories, academic regulations, and other key infrastructures required for effective programme delivery.

‎Meanwhile, as the college awaits the official report, the Provost, Dr Olubamise, has again reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing quality health and technology-driven education, fostering innovation, and contributing meaningfully to national and continental development.
