Oyebanji Signs Ekiti’s N415.6bn 2026 Budget into Law

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of N415.6 billion into law.

The signing ceremony, held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, also featured the assent to two other bills—the Ekiti State Revenue Administration Bill (2025) and the Ekiti State College of Technology, Ijero Bill (2025).

Governor Oyebanji said the 2026 budget, christened “Budget of Sustainable Governance,” allocates 53 per cent to recurrent expenditure and 47 per cent to capital expenditure.

“I am delighted to sign into law three important legislations that are critical to the continuous realisation of our shared prosperity agenda,” the governor said. He noted that as 2026 marks the final year of his administration’s first term, the budget would enable the government to consolidate on achievements recorded since assumption of office on October 16, 2022.

Oyebanji explained that priority areas of the budget include completion of ongoing projects, food security, wealth creation and infrastructure development.

He added that the state would intensify efforts to meet its revenue targets in the 2026 fiscal year to complete ongoing projects and embark on a few critical and strategic ones.

The governor assured the people of Ekiti of his commitment to policies and programmes that will deepen shared prosperity and improve living standards across the state.
