The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly submitted the names of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy governorship candidate, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as their candidate and running mate for the forthcoming election in Ekiti State on December 8, 2025.
According to online reports, this submission follows the APC governorship primary election, where Governor Oyebanji emerged as the party’s candidate through affirmation in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The submission of their names to INEC, as reported, solidifies Governor Oyebanji’s position as the APC’s candidate for the 2026 election, laying to rest claims by some political opponents that the party had doubts about his candidacy.
