A magistrate’s court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of three people, Sunday Ikechukwu (39), Pius Kelvin (29) and Jude Sunday (35), in correctional custody over alleged conspiracy, threat of violence and attempted murder.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants were reasonably suspected to have committed the offences, including an attempt to murder one Sunday Onodu, and others, contrary to Sections 421, 46 and 241 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021).
The prosecutor urged the court to grant his application for remand, noting that the original case file had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice.
The Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the application and ordered that the suspects be remanded in correctional custody pending the advice from the DPP.
