The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has arrested a 20-year-old man, Dare Omoyajowo, for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl with hearing and speech impairments in Are Ekiti.
According to a statement released on Monday by the Corps’ Head of Communications, Adeleye Adewale, the incident occurred on Friday. Omoyajowo was apprehended following a report lodged by the victim’s mother at the Amotekun office in Are Ekiti.

The victim’s mother reported that her daughter returned home with visible seminal stains on her body. Due to her condition, the girl communicated the assault through sign language, describing how she had been lured and violated.
Amotekun operatives in the Ifedara Local Council Development Area swiftly arrested the suspect. During interrogation, Omoyajowo reportedly confessed, stating that he enticed the girl into his apartment using gestures and body language before committing the act.
The Corps has handed Omoyajowo over to the Rapid Response Squad of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado Ekiti for further investigation and possible prosecution.
This arrest comes amid heightened efforts by the Amotekun Corps to combat sexual offences against minors.
Earlier in December, a 28-year-old man, Olapade Ifeoluwa, was detained in Ilawe Ekiti for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl. Ifeoluwa confessed after his arrest, claiming he lured the child with a film before assaulting her. The victim’s cries reportedly alerted neighbours, leading to her rescue.
Additionally, the Corps recently arrested five individuals linked to other crimes, including kidnapping, attempted abduction, and fraud.
