The Federal University Oye-Ekiti has released its proposed academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, covering fresh and returning students.

Resumption and online registration for all students begin on Monday, 22nd September 2025, with lectures starting immediately for returning students. Fresh students will attend orientation from Monday, 29th September to Friday, 3rd October, with lectures commencing for all from Monday, 6th October.

Late registration and fee payments will close by Friday, 10th October. The matriculation ceremonies are scheduled for Thursday, 13th November at Oye Campus and Friday, 14th November at Irole Campus. Lectures will end on Friday, 19th December, followed by the year-end break.

After a revision week in January 2026, first semester exams will run from Monday, 19th January to Saturday, 7th February. Convocation and Founders’ Day celebrations are set for Sunday, 8th to Sunday, 15th February. The semester concludes with marking and processing of results through early March, with the Senate’s final approval on 11th March. A break runs from 9th February to 7th March.

The second semester kicks off on Monday, 9th March 2026, with lectures resuming alongside registration. Key dates in the semester include tentative public holidays like Eid-el-Fitri on 20th March, Easter from 3rd to 6th April, and Eid-el-Kabir on 28th May. Lectures end on Friday, 5th June, followed by Student Union Week from 8th to 11th June and Democracy Day on 12th June.

Revision week runs from 15th to 19th June before exams take place from 22nd June to 11th July. Grading and result processing continue through August, with Senate ratification on 15th August. The session ends with a break from 13th July to 19th September. Sporting activities are scheduled every Friday from 1pm.

The next academic year begins Monday, 21st September 2026. Throughout, public holidays will be observed as directed by the Federal Government.

This calendar balances 13 weeks of lectures, revision periods, exams, and special events, aiming to create a smooth academic experience for all students.Β
