Wale Ajayi, a critic of Lere Olayinka and ally of former Governor Kayode Fayemi, has defended Fayemi’s standing in Ekiti politics against accusations of betrayal and envy.

In a recent response, Ajayi described Fayemi as the grandmaster of Ekiti politics whose influence extends well beyond the state, highlighting that Fayemi uniquely produced a successor in Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

He insisted that the overwhelming support Oyebanji enjoys within the APC is a direct result of the strong political structure Fayemi built. Ajayi dismissed claims of disloyalty by Fayemi, stating that if Fayemi had betrayed the APC as Olayinka’s camp allegedly betrayed the PDP, Oyebanji’s second-term ambitions would be impossible.

He also urged Olayinka and his allies to respect Fayemi’s leadership and political vision, asserting that Fayemi remains miles ahead in politics and governance.

Ajayi concluded by affirming the unity within APC endures despite internal challenges and dismissed attempts to undermine Fayemi’s legacy ahead of upcoming primaries.
