Ekiti Yam Farmers Aim for Guinness Record with Largest Iyan Pyramid

Yam farmers in Ekiti State are gearing up to break a world record by creating the largest pyramid of Iyan during the December 2025 World Iyan Carnival.

Thanks to a technical training led by EvolveCrest, Sterling Bank, and the State Ministry of Agriculture, farmers have adopted new financial strategies and modern farming methods to boost production quality and quantity.

The government, alongside agriculture experts and financiers, pledged strong support to help Ekiti become the world’s top yam producer, highlighting the crop’s role in food security and economic growth.
