An unidentified man was found dead on Thursday morning, near Tosin Aluko’s Garage along Ajilosun Road in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The discovery was made in the early hours of the day when residents noticed a lifeless body lying by the roadside.

Eyewitnesses said the deceased appeared to have been tied up before his death, a situation that quickly attracted passersby and concerned residents to the scene.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the man might have been beaten and restrained, prior to his death.

The source suggested that the circumstances surrounding the incident indicated a possible act of mob punishment, although details remain sketchy and unverified.

Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command later arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area and evacuated the body in a patrol vehicle for preliminary investigation.

As of the time of filing this report, the police had not issued an official statement on the identity of the deceased or the cause of death.
