A truck carrying plywood from Ado-Ekiti to Lagos State crashed into an electric pole and fell into a ditch near a popular electronic shop in Oke Oriomi Area of Ado Ekiti today. The incident occurred when the truck was navigating a bend leading to Oke Oriomi, close to the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service old office.
Although no casualties were recorded, many traders and motorists scurried for safety. The driver, Alhmed Mahu, attributed the incident to a fault with the vehicle’s braking system, stating that the truck was in good condition when it left the site earlier.
An eyewitness attributed such incidents to poor maintenance culture but expressed gratitude that no one was hurt. The driver confirmed that he had alerted the company, and a technical team was en route to address the situation.
