The World Bank has approved the construction of a state-of-the-art abattoir in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as part of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project.
According to the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Ebenezer Boluwade, the facility will enhance the state’s livestock value chain, improve food safety, and boost economic growth.
The proposed abattoir, to be located along Iworoko Road, will feature advanced meat-processing equipment, cold storage units, and comprehensive waste management systems, with stringent sanitation protocols and high hygiene standards in place.
