The National Union of Road Transport Workers in Ekiti and Ondo States has warned its members against collecting unauthorized money from commercial drivers on the Akure-Ikere-Ado road.
The union made this resolution during a peace meeting in Akure, cautioning members to maintain peace with drivers and accept whatever is given to them after assisting with loading passengers. Any member found violating this resolution would face sanctions.
The warning follows allegations that some members were collecting unauthorized dues from drivers, prompting the union to call for an end to such practices.
The union’s leaders emphasized the need for synergy and peaceful coexistence among members along the route.
