Dr. Badaki Aliyu has been sworn in as the new National President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), following a resounding victory over Professor Wasiu Babalola at the Federation’s 2025 Annual General Meeting and Election held in Abuja. As the newly elected President, Aliyu has vowed to revolutionize the Federation and revitalize Nigeria’s tourism industry through the launch of the Tourism Transformation Movement (TTM), a groundbreaking initiative designed to reshape the nation’s tourism landscape.
In his inaugural address, Aliyu expressed profound gratitude to the members of the Federation for their unwavering support, hailing his election as a dawn of a new era for FTAN and Nigerian tourism. “United, we are poised to embark on a fresh chapter. Let the world take note that tourism in Nigeria has discovered a new voice, a new vision, and a rejuvenated vitality,” he proclaimed.
The TTM, according to Aliyu, is more than just a catchphrase β it is a comprehensive framework crafted to reform the tourism sector and fortify the private sector’s role in national development.
