ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The following organizations are eligible to apply:
– INTERNATIONAL OR NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS: Active in teaching and learning
– GOVERNMENTAL OR NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS: Focused on education and research
– EDUCATIONAL OR RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS: Committed to improving teaching practices
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be considered, projects must:
– DEMONSTRATE INNOVATION: Promote quality and effectiveness in teaching
– BE EXEMPLARY: Inspire other programs and adaptable to different contexts
– SHOW IMPACT: Be ongoing for at least three years with measurable results
TIMELINE
– LAUNCH OF CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: July 2025
– APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: October 31, 2025
– SELECTION MEETING: February-March 2026
– AWARD CEREMONY: October 5, 2026 (World Teachers’ Day)
PRIZE DETAILS
– Award Amount: $300,000 (divided equally among three winners)
– Certificate: Each winner receives a certificate

HOW TO APPLY
1. NOMINATION: Governments of UNESCO Member States via their National Commissions to UNESCO or NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO can nominate candidate projects.
2. APPLICATION: Nominated candidates complete and submit an account request form to access the full application form.
3. SUBMISSION: Candidates upload the nomination form and complete their full application online.
