The historic town of Ikogosi, renowned for its mystical warm springs, is set to host the 2nd Ikogosi 17.5km Road Race on November 8, 2025, a testament to Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s mission to establish Ekiti as Nigeria’s tourism hub.
Since taking office, Oyebanji has spearheaded numerous infrastructure projects, revitalized sports, and fostered an investor-friendly environment. By endorsing the Ikogosi Road Race, organized in collaboration with the Ikogosi Marathon Initiative, the governor reaffirms his commitment to positioning Ekiti as a global tourism destination.
This event is expected to attract athletes, tourists, and investors worldwide, stimulating local commerce and showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage. Over 500 youths will receive training as volunteers, while artisans and small businesses will benefit from the increased exposure.
The race route, which highlights the state’s natural beauty and improved infrastructure, will run from Ilawe’s scenic terrains to the world-famous Ikogosi Warm Spring.
This strategic event will not only promote Ekiti’s tourism potential but also redefine the state as a hub for sports, commerce, culture, and investment opportunities under Oyebanji’s leadership.
