The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Ekiti State has called on residents, especially women, to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing it as the crucial first step toward meaningful democratic engagement.

In a statement signed by Chairperson Mrs Adewumi Ademiju and Secretary Mrs Funmi Falae, the association highlighted the power of women in shaping policies through voting, urging them not to sit on the sidelines but to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

NAWOJ also appealed to community leaders and civil society to intensify awareness campaigns ahead of the registration closing date, reaffirming its commitment to empowering women and promoting inclusive governance.Β
